OMG BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD
John Pell write:
The new Bluetooth keyboard is really helpful. My iPad now really is a portable terminal!
An excellent terminal
More features than I could possibly need, and I can't imagine a better implementation of these features. The keyboard overlay is very nice, and the hotkey customization is awesome!
One thing I would REALY love to see added is WYSE50 encodings so I can use this at work.
Thanks for the great app!
Excellent SSH, good VNC, worthless Xserver
I have this on an iphone. I think it would probably be even better on an iPad. The ssh terminal is excellent. The only thing I see missing from a full ssh client is remote tunnels, and I'm really not sure what you would use those for on an iphone. Very usable with the on-screen keypad, and I'm sure much better with a bluetooth keyboard (I don't have one). I was able to tunnel RDP and access my Windows box from a 3G connection. The VNC client works pretty well and is the best option if you need to use GUI apps on a UNIX or Linux box. I gave the app four stars only because the Xserver is pretty much useless. I could get an xterm or gvim to work, using the built in window manager and starting from an ssh session. Firefox would hang the xserver pretty quickly, and kde (with local window manager turned off) either failed to start, or caused a hang or crash.
Don't let the buggy Xserver stop you from buying the app. The VNC client works. I'm not really sure why the author bothered to include the Xserver. It needs a lot of work before it's worth screwing around with.
